Friends of Orchard End Surgery
We are a group who meet twice a year to discuss the practice with a selection of representatives from the population of the surgery. We also have a virtual group being set up via Facebook.
Our aim is to give patients a voice, a chance to hear views and ideas and incorporate these ito the running of the surgery to offer the best service possible.
The group also help raise funds to purchase/repair medical equipment. Books are donated and sold in the waiting room providing a valuable source of income.
Recently a cake sale was held with the help of members of the committee during the flu clinics and raised a staggering amount of £412 to be shared between The Friends of Orchard End Surgery and Cross Roads Carers.
We are thrilled to have held 2 very successful fundraising events at the surgery.
The first was 2 coffee mornings in support of Crossroads Carers during our flu clinics. With the generosity of our patients and staff, together with local businesses we raised approximately £850 for this worthy local charity.
In December we held a tea party just prior to Christmas in support of the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust where over £1000 was raised to fund Youth Mental health First Aider Training for 16 young people and teachers of the local state schools.
